Biography
Dr. Jafar Khan is the first neonatal superspecialist in Central India, with over two decades of experience in pediatrics and neonatology. He completed his MBBS (2000) and MD Pediatrics (2004) from MGM Medical College, Indore, and later pursued DNB Neonatology at Fernandez Hospital, Hyderabad, where he was awarded the Dr. S. Jayam Gold Medal (2012) for securing the top rank in India.
With expertise in high-risk newborn care, extreme preterm & ELBW infants (<500 gm), antenatal counseling, functional echocardiography, neurosonography, and advanced NICU management, Dr. Khan has been instrumental in saving thousands of lives.
In 2016, he established a 5-bed NICU at SNS Hospital, Indore, which grew into a 20-bed advanced unit treating over 3,500–4,000 newborns. A remarkable achievement includes successfully managing quadruplet preterm babies (26 weeks, <650 gm each) discharged after 90 days.
Currently, he leads Lotus Healthcare Hospital for Women and Newborns, Indore – a 70-bedded hospital with 30 advanced NICU beds, 8 ventilators, and 6 CPAP/HFNC systems, offering world-class care for women and newborns.

Dr. Jafar Khan completed his MBBS in 2000 and MD in Pediatrics in 2004 from MGM Medical College, Indore, where he developed a strong foundation in child health and pediatric care. With a growing interest in neonatology, he pursued DNB Neonatology at Fernandez Hospital for Women and Newborns, Hyderabad (2010–2012)—one of the country’s most reputed centers for high-risk pregnancy and neonatal care. During this rigorous training, he gained extensive hands-on experience in managing extremely premature and low birth weight babies, antenatal counseling, neonatal functional echocardiography, and neurosonogram. His academic excellence was recognized when he secured the first rank nationally in the DNB exit exam and was honored with the prestigious Dr. S. Jayam Gold Medal in 2012, establishing him as the first neonatal superspecialist in Central India.
